The products most directly influenced by our FW19 inspiration of the harvest season are the Work Jacket and Utility Pant. We took them out of their usual environment of fields and work sheds, and brought them to downtown NYC.
We chose to make a work jacket because they're an old staple. A super functional and timeless piece, perfect for the transitional weather on the east coast as the leaves turn and before it gets frigid. When it does, throw a hoodie under it and it will take you deep into winter.
Small but important details are included throughout the jacket. The hidden snap single welt chest pocket can secure small to medium sized objects without having to worry about them popping out. The interior has been lined with a dry poplin to give the jacket extra structure. Pocket flaps have also been reinforced with the same corduroy as the collar. Side pockets have side entry in addition to the flap pocket.
On the backside there are two exterior pockets with shank closures that can be used as a quick stash pocket for large or small items. Sleeve cuffs have a double shank closure to cinch the wrist when needed or kept loose and ventilated when unbuttoned.
The Utility Pant is a casual bottom that isn't a five-pocket denim trouser; meaning it sits between something very casual and a flat front chino. It's a more durable pant made to take extra wear and tear and we've designed ours with this in mind.
It features an interior drawcord with reinforced eyelets with an extra layer of the cut and sewn fabric to prevent tearing around the sewn buttonhole after years of pulling. Custom flathead rivets were used instead of bartacs at points of stress on the backpatch pockets. Double needle flat fell chain stitching used throughout provides the most durable seam and stitch type to reduce the risk of of a stitch breaking or a blown out seam. An open head shank is used at waist fastening so you don't need to worry about a button popping off.
Both of these products are meant to be worn hard, so take them out and beat them up, they'll hold up wether it's out in nature or in the city.
