Founder/designer, Pete, and Art Director, Christian, both grew up playing hockey. While Pete was playing “shinny” in and around Toronto; Christian was playing pond hockey on one of the many lakes of Minnesota.

After playing for more than a decade, you tend to build strong relationships with your equipment and the brands behind them. Christian, obviously, had a preference for Christian hockey sticks and Pete trusted Bauer when it came to skates. What they both agreed on was that Tackla had the top hockey pants. It always seemed like the best kid on the team had a pair and seeing them on someone was an immediate recognition that this person knew their hockey.

It’s a logo and a brand that has meant something to us for a long time now. We want to revive those memories for the people who are already familiar with it, and share them with people who have yet to be introduced.
