Adsum’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection is inspired by high performance yacht racing. It is not a retro or ironic look at it, but a real appreciation of the skill and precision of a technical outdoor sport.
Radiant saturated colors like hi-vis yellow, safety orange, and bright blue reference the sportier race-day color palette of performance yacht competition and weave their way throughout the collection. These are balanced by the subdued hues of washed out yellow, rich green, and beige that capture the more casual land-based lifestyle behind the racing culture.
Obvious yacht racing aesthetic cues on the hardshell Anoraks from SS19 can be seen in color block design. The reflective throat tab panel featured on the lightweight anorak gives the jacket a burst of color while adding practicality of high-power reflectivity. Choose the hardshell anorak for severe weather situations and the lightweight Anorak when packing practicality comes into play. Either one of our SS19 waterproof outerwear options will keep you dry for seasons to come.
The SS19 Hardshell Anorak features color blocked three layer fabric that is cut, sewn and taped by its respective color. Have a look inside the jacket. We backed the main body fabric with the same color tricot as the face to create a unique visual experience on the inside of the jacket. The Hardshell Anorak has been finished with sturdy custom debossed metal press studs to secure the sleeve tabs and center front placket.
The soft-shell variant of our full zip anorak utilizes a Japanese milled, stretch, three layer and waterproof-breathable main body fabric. The face side of the bonded main body fabric is a ripstop stretch nylon quality. Having a ripstop face quality helps reduce continuous ripping if a small tear occurs from daily use. Instead of metal press studs, the lightweight anorak has 10MM matte finish Sun-Tenac snaps for pocket and center front placket closure to reduce weight and help with jacket packability.
