We always look forward to the colder weather here at Adsum. We love the seasons, and we love an excuse to break out our heavy winter gear. Launching today are three updated pieces that have become our winter go-to’s, and a new style we think might become one.

Originally launched in 2017, the Alpine Jacket was Adsum’s foray into down fill outerwear alongside the Alpine Vest. Down is similar to the wool pieces we touched on in last week’s post, as it also comes from a natural source. It can arguably be considered the single best insulator available for use in warm weather clothing.

We changed the exterior shell fabric of the FW20 Alpine Jacket to a soft touch, water resistant ripstop 100% nylon ripstop taffeta. Jacket details and fit remain the same from FW19 including integrated stretch ponte storm cuffs, a interior storm placket to stop any draft coming through the center front YKK vislon zipper teeth, metal snap closure patch pockets, a cinchable high throat hood and zippered interior stow pocket.

The FW20 Hyperlight Vest and Jacket have been re-fit to be roomier through the hip and shoulder areas in comparison to our FW19 Hyperlight styles. We increased the amount of fill pumped into the jacket by 20% to make what we believe is the warmest down quilted fill jacket in its price range. Both vest and jacket have zippered front hand pockets and all down styles this season have been finished with black YKK zips and custom zip pulls. All down products this season have been branded with an interior vintage damask label celebrating our Adsum Mountain Works design pack artwork.

New to the FW20 assortment is the high pile fleece lined Hampton Jacket. There are minimal exterior embellishments except for dual reverse entry wide plackets that cover metal YKK zippered hand pockets and a tonal logo embroidery. Covering the the interior sherpa lining is an Italian peached nylon blend weather cloth which is both wind and water resistant. Having cotton fibers spun into the yarn composition of the exterior fabric gives the fabric an incredible hand feel and allows for micro peaching finishing.

Model is 6'3" and 170 lbs. He wears size Large for Jackets/Vests and size Medium for bottoms.
